Developers, want to show the Last Visit Date for a patient?

By including dates in your Model as Summary values, the Model can identify the last patient encounter (visit) date. Dates are stored as integer numbers in the Model, representing the number of days since December 31, 1899. Since the date is stored as a number, we can use the Maximum Sum type.

You will use two applications: Visual Builder and ProDiver, to create the Last Patient Encounter column.

in visual builder

Open Visual Builder to create a new description file or use an existing one.

1. Recognize Date Values

a. Re-classify the date field as a Summary. Be sure to set the Column Properties to recognize the date values. Check the “Column Contains Dates” option then set the appropriate the Date Formatting.

2. Set the Build Specification Options

a. Continue to the Build Specification Options dialog.

b. Check the Maximum option in the Sum Types section. Do not uncheck Total.

c. Select Finish.

3. Rebuild the Model

a. Select Model > Build Model… from the menu.

in prodiver

d. Rename the column to “Last Patient Encounter” or “Date of Last Visit”.
